The sole is a softer sticky rubber and has a revolutionary attachment point on top of the foot for attaching an ascender. 

The Arbpro Clip’n Step Tree Climbing Boots are designed to be stronger, lighter, and more flexible than the Arbpro EVO. The attachment point works very well with the HAAS ascending system.

wide feet? No prob

I have very wide feet. My wife bought me these boots for Christmas and I was like "no way". I slipped one on and it felt like my foot was being squeezed in a press. I was going to try a larger size but I called to discuss an exchange and the associate told me that they were a form fitting shoe. Ok, I went ahead and wore them in the house. After some discomfort they seemed to fit better. Did this for 2 days and wore them in the trees today. I am in love with these boots now. Very happy I got these. Thanks Honey. She's a keeper

I have had these for a couple weeks now and so far so good. They are very comfortable and extremely light, less than half the weight of Redwing Loggers. The narrow design works great for tight crotches. Great boot.
