As you know, your carabiners should be inspected before every climb as well as the rest of your tree climbing equipment. Over the years, we have witnessed many different versions of inspections. Some are very useful and realistic while others tend to be a bit on the “Get’er Done” side of things. We want you to always keep in mind, anything you use to connect yourself to a tree or to a rope attached to a tree is YOUR LIFE SUPPORT!
DMM has been kind enough to release a great infographic on how to properly inspect, clean, lubricate, and quarantine your carabiners. We recommend reading through it completely so you understand what you are looking for and what to do to fix any problems you might find.
