In a recent Facebook post, the question was brought up as to what individuals should be brought into the spotlight for innovations and game changing ideas in the tree climbing community. There were plenty of great people brought up that have really revolutionized the way that we climb or even the gear that we climb with, but one of the most important names is Denny Moorhouse, the man behind both DMM and ISC.
DMM (or Denny Moorhouse Mountaineering) is a Welsh company that was started in 1981. Since then, they've create some amazing products that are used for tree climbing, rock climbing as well as rope access and safety. DMM has a pretty distinct look to all of their gear. With their clean smooth edges, amazing machining and elegant look, DMM has made a name for themselves in every market they support.
Denny Moorhouse is also known for being the Charmain of ISC (International Safety Corporation), which is another fine manufacturer of some amazing gear (i.e the Rope Wrench.)

Hitch Climber Pulley
Everyone's favorite Hitch Climber Pulley! The Triple Attachment Pulley forms an integral part of the renowned Hitch Climber System and is a firm favorite of working at height professionals. The three hole construction makes rigging and organizing much simpler and allows for off-center hanging to minimize rope to pulley friction.
Hitch Climber Eccentric Pulley
The Hitch Climber Eccentric is an evolution of the classic Triple Attachment Pulley that became widely known as the ‘Hitch Climber’. The design improvements are the result of over a decade of Hitch Climber design and manufacturing expertise, together with feedback from climbers.
The new geometry of the Eccentric offers greater efficiency combined with a striking aesthetic. The ‘pushing plates’ will advance your friction hitch earlier and the optimized fairlead flairs direct rope towards the sheave when tending slack.

The Ultra O's symmetrical rope baskets are ideal for assisted braking devices, pulleys, swivels and shackles. They also give stable loading characteristics, as attachments can self-center under load with minimal movement from the carabiner.

The Captain is a self-locating, high strength hook that has been designed and tested with the trademark attention to detail that is synonymous with DMM.
The pivoting D shackle helps destabilize the hook if presented in the wrong orientation and interacts beautifully with the carefully sculpted hook form to ensure reliable location on the anchor, specifically for connecting to remote anchors and facilitate controlled sideways movement – traversing.
Once in place, the quality engineering ensures a rated strength of 23kN (dependent on the anchor). When the job is done, the Captain racks superbly on a harness, minimizing the chances of snagging.

The Keanu
Compact trolley for highline rigging and rescue operations. If precision, speed and efficiency are important in your reeve, then the Keanu is your answer. By incorporating multiple sheaves within fixed side plates, not only have we ensured that you won’t forget critical rigging components, we have created a trolley that makes it easier to lift and move loads with precision and speed.
Keanu is lighter and smaller than highline assemblies configured using multiple components. Series redundancy can be configured with the addition of pulleys and lines via quick release locking pins. Two Keanu trolleys can be bolted together to create parallel redundancy. All components are replaceable, so maintenance can be carried out by end users, making these trolleys ideal for rescue teams, arborists and theatre riggers.
