40" Ahlborn Wrap-Around Chainsaw Chap

When you're running a chainsaw in the tree, leg protection isn't optional — it's essential. The Ahlborn 40" Wrap-Around Chainsaw Chap provides a higher level of protection than conventional chaps by wrapping around the entire leg, not just the front. This full-coverage design significantly reduces the risk and severity of injury from a rotating saw blade making contact from any angle.

The oil and water-resistant oxford outer sheds the grime and moisture of a real workday, while the inner protective layers are engineered to clog a chainsaw chain on contact — buying critical fractions of a second that can prevent a serious injury.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between wrap-around and conventional chaps?
Conventional chaps protect only the front of the leg. Wrap-around chaps encircle the entire leg, providing protection from contact at any angle — a critical advantage when working in dynamic positions in the tree.

Is there a shorter version?
Yes — see the 36" Ahlborn Chainsaw Chap for a shorter option.

Great product, great service

Bought a pair of Ahlborn wrap-around chaps, which are a great design, but the size recommendation ended up being too short. Bartlett did a great job facilitating an exchange for the proper size. A great design addition would be a second (tall, narrow) pocket.
