Samson ArborFreak 120ft (No Eye) – Redwood Review

I’ve been using the Samson ArborFreak 120ft rope in Redwood, and overall I’m really impressed with it. Right away, the color stands out—easy to spot in the tree and on the ground, which is a big plus when you’re working.

The rope feels solid and well-made. It has a nice balance between being firm and flexible, so it runs smoothly through hardware without feeling too stiff. Knots hold really well and are easy to untie after loading, which makes a big difference during long days.

Grip is great too—it’s comfortable in the hand and doesn’t feel too slick or too rough. Whether you’re climbing or rigging light stuff, it performs consistently and gives you confidence.

Durability seems strong so far. It handles abrasion well and hasn’t shown much wear even after regular use.

Overall: Solid, dependable rope with great handling and visibility. Definitely one I’d recommend.

This is a good rope it’s easy to tie knots and feels good in the hands. Although for climbing with a MRS it does tend to twist up on the descent some. I’m looking forward to seeing how it does with a mechanical descender.

It's a rope. Bought 1 a third of the price, similar specs, probably not as good (for a back up). So this is for the professional arborist, and not so much a diy guy who spent 2 grand to save 10 grand doing trees in his own yard. And then find out his 50yr old 230lb ass is too scared at 30ft. Lol. 50 more ft to go. But that's why they make alcohol.

Bartlett was amazing with my order, wonderful customer service, just not stoked on the samson rope I got, tends to kink/coil up after rapping out of the tree, hopfully its just a break in deal and it will straighten out.
