Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Silky Sugoi 360 compare to the Silky Zubat 330?

The Sugoi 360 has a longer 14.2" blade vs the Zubat’s 13" blade, and its teeth are specifically designed for chip removal on larger diameter cuts. The Zubat is the most popular all-around arborist saw; the Sugoi is preferred when tackling larger limbs where maximum cutting efficiency matters. Many arborists carry both.

Why do some arborists not carry a chainsaw when using the Sugoi?

The Silky Sugoi’s chip-removal tooth design and large curved blade produce cutting speeds that rival small chainsaws on branches up to a certain diameter. For arborists doing precision canopy work where a chainsaw would be cumbersome or unsafe, the Sugoi provides enough cutting power to handle most cuts from the saddle.

Does the Silky Sugoi 360 come with a scabbard?

Yes. The Silky Sugoi 360 includes a high-visibility scabbard that can be attached to the climber’s saddle or leg for convenient access while climbing.

Can the blade on the Silky Sugoi 360 be replaced?

Yes. Genuine replacement blades for the Silky Sugoi 360 are available separately (SKU HS-391-36), allowing you to extend the life of your Sugoi handle when the blade wears out.

My go-to hand saw for removals

My go-to hand saw for removals. This thing rips. Long reach, aggressive teeth, and the hook on the tip for grabbing out of reach branches / lines. Been using this model since 2014, and it's worth every penny.

Love this saw

New to arborist work but this saw is a great tool. Cuts great and is always there for backup in the case is a pinched bar or meeting to cut some smaller branches. The sheath appears week made with plastic rollers to protect the sheath from damage. Fyi if your looking at this saw, it came with elastic straps for strapping the sheath to your leg. Maybe i missed it but didn't see that straps were included in the item description. I would definitely recommend this saw.

Who needs a chainsaw.

The Sugoi is a monster of a handsaw that works great. The 360mm model is quite long and is hard to re-sheath while attached to a belt so the leg straps are a must.

To reiterate the manufacturer’s recommendations, the Sugoi is only for takedowns as the teeth are very aggressive.
