Personal Protection and Work Safety Gear
Protective equipment is the single most important gear of all. Tree climbing can be dangerous when you don’t protect yourself from the inherent dangers of tree work. Don’t forget, working down on the ground has it’s hazards as well!
Climbing helmets protect our heads and necks from struck-by accidents, while safety glasses and face shields protect our face and eyes from flying debris. Ear protection like muffs and plugs reduce the decibels that are generated from chainsaws, chippers, and other large equipment. The KASK SC3 Earmuffs are especially popular in noisy work environments due to their all-day comfort and effective functionality, making them ideal for chainsaw ear protection. You can also find Milwaukee ear protection, such as the Milwaukee BOLT 24dB Earmuffs, which are known for their affordability and excellent noise-cancelling capabilities.
Many brands sell their own safety visors to fit their specific climbing helmets, while earmuffs work with a majority of helmets. We recommend the Petzl Strato Vented Helmet with Petzl’s Smoke Vizir. If you're looking for a built-in ear protection helmet, the Pfanner Protos Helmet features everything you need to stay safe, including integrated earmuffs, a durable shell, excellent ventilation, and compatibility with various safety visors.
Chainsaw protective pants and chaps protect our legs while running a chainsaw. Any bare skin is susceptible to cuts. Let’s not forget that chainsaw cuts don’t cut surgically, they tear skin! That is why a great pair of chainsaw pants, or chainsaw chaps, are essential.
A good pair of climbing gloves will help you grip branches and rope better.
Don't ever put your safety in question - always wear your protective gear!
